Crosscare has launched a range of products to treat lactose intolerance in adults and children, which could affect up to 4 million people in the UK alone. Convenient and easy to use, the Milkaid® range helps prevent symptoms such as wind, bloating and diarrhoea.
The first of its kind, raspberry flavoured chewable Milkaid® Tablets and strawberry flavoured chewable Milkaid® Junior Tablets can be taken just before consuming any food containing lactose.
Free from artificial flavours, gluten or yeast, they contain the enzyme lactase to improve lactose digestion. Milkaid® Drops can be added to milk and are able to reduce the lactose level by up to 99%.
The launch of Milkaid® Tablets, Milkaid® Junior Tablets and Milkaid® Drops builds on Crosscare’s scientific knowledge and proven expertise in lactose intolerance, which inspired the development of Colief® Infant Drops over two decades ago, one of the most prescribed treatment for colic for infants in the UK.
MILKAID® LACTASE ENZYME TABLETS
Being lactose intolerant used to mean giving up milk, dairy foods and the important nutrients, minerals and vitamins they provide. The Milkaid® range of products contain lactase enzyme, a safe natural enzyme that is usually found in the digestive system. It works by breaking down the complex milk sugar lactose, into two more easily digestible sugars – glucose and galactose. Lactase enzyme improves lactose digestion in individuals who have difficulty digesting lactose. Enjoy milk and dairy foods again, without upset.
Milkaid® Tablets are unique raspberry flavoured chewable tablets containing lactase enzyme to improve the digestion of lactose. Each tablet contains lactase 3000 ALU and is free from artificial flavours, gluten or yeast. Milkaid® Tablets are designed to work in the acid environment of the stomach and are convenient when eating out. One to two tablets can be chewed immediately before consuming any food containing lactose. The number of tablets can be adjusted to suit individual requirements, but no more than six tablets to be taken with any one meal.
MILKAID® LACTASE ENZYME DROPS
Milkaid® Drops contain lactase enzyme to help break down the lactose present in milk, making it easier to digest. Milkaid® Drops can be added to milk to reduce lactose content and then used on cereal and in drinks. Three drops are added to 500ml of milk, shaken gently and refrigerated for 24 hours.
This will reduce the lactose level by approximately 70%. For an even greater reduction ten drops can be added, which will reduce the lactose level by approximately 99%. Once treated the milk can be used for cooking, on cereals or in beverages.
